If you smell propane, immediately put out all smoking materials and any open flames. In addition, do not operate any cell phones, appliances or lights because flames or sparks from these devices can trigger an explosion or a fire. If you believe that you have a propane gas leak, immediately leave the area and evacuate the building. Once you've evacuated the building or left the immediate area of the suspected leak, try to shut off the main gas supply valve on your propane tank if it is safe to do so.
When you have exited the area and are a safe distance from the source of the smell, immediately report the leak from a neighbor's house or other nearby location by calling Manley Gas. If you can't reach your propane retailer, call 911 or the local fire department immediately. Above all, do not re-enter the building until your propane retailer or fire department has determined that it is safe to do so.
Finally, you should always have a trained and qualified service technician from your local propane retailer perform a complete system gas check, including your propane appliances, to make absolutely sure that is safe before you attempt to turn your propane tank back on or try to use any of the gas appliances.
